The lower than expected estimate of the US 2017 almond crop from the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) resulted in firmer almond prices, Dutch broker Global Trading & Agency noted in its May 17 report. The company observed that prices moved up by around 5 US cents per pound.
