Campina first to exploit German GM-free claim law

Dairy producer Campina has become the first food manufacturer to exploit complex German legislation to launch an advertising campaign proclaiming that its products are GM-free (ohne Gentechnik). A commercial posted on Campina's Landliebe brand website launched on March 1, features dairy farmers talking about the "authentic and traditional" feed plants used for their cows' feed rations. It says that the Campina "ohne-gentechnik" concept bans the use of soya ingredients in the compound feed, and favours the use of traditional feed crops - such as grass, oilseed rape or lupins - grown in Germany.
