USDA predicts 10% decline in 2012/13 Brazilian orange crop

THE Agricultural Trade Office in São Paulo (ATO/São Paulo) forecasts the total Brazilian orange crop for 2012/13 (the US marketing year, which runs July/June: Brazil calls this the 2013/14 marketing year), at 455 million boxes boxes, a 10% decrease compared with the current crop (2011/12), assuming that good weather conditions prevail as of December 2012 to support fruit setting and develop- ment.
