GENERAL Brands, one of Brazil’s largest producers of powdered and ready-to-drink fruit juices, is launching a new line of chocolate products under its Camp brand. Vladimir Pekic writes: Camp was previously reserved for fruit juices. The new Camp Chocolates bars are available in 50g and 130g sizes and in four different flavours (white, milk, peanut and crunchy). “We decided to do this, because our [Camp] brand is powerful. It would cost a lot to create a completely new brand,” said Isael Pinto, founder of General Brands. The chocolate market in Brazil is estimated to be worth around BRL7.0 billion (USD3.5 billion).
