Chile-Brazil wineThis article was originally published in Foodnews
CHILE’s minister for foreign affairs, Alfredo Moreno, has denied that the decision by the Brazilian ministry of development, industry and foreign commerce to open an investigation into how possible safeguards on imports of fine wine will affect Chilean wine entering Brazil. Moreno explained that Brazil and Chile have an extremely good relationship. “I am confident that the Brazilian authorities will investigate what they need to because they will find Chilean wine imports functioning just fine,” he said. The minister added that “Chilean wine is present and sold in every part of the world” and that there “are no difficulties, no subsidies, and no type of special help given to Chilean producers”.
