COCA-Cola Enterprises (CCE) is to invest GBP50 million (USD78 million) in three of its sites in the UK: Wakefield, East Kilbride and Sidcup. The majority of the investment will be made at CCE’s Wakefield site, where GBP30 million will be spent on an automated warehouse designed to double CCE’s storage capacity. The work will be completed in two years. The East Kilbride site will see GBP5.4 million invested in new lightweight PET bottle production lines and new equipment to eliminate the use of cardboard in multi-pack products. The remainder will be spent on boosting production capabilities at the Sidcup site with a new canning line.
