Bake-at-home rolls

UK BAKERY chain, Greggs, has started a trial of bake-at-home sausage rolls with high-street frozen foods retailer, Iceland. "This is a trial which will enable Greggs to assess the potential for its savoury foods to be sold into the frozen take-home market, and to identify any impact this could have on its existing shop business," the company was quoted as saying by Reuters. The Greggs branded sausage rolls will initially be sold in ten shops in the Liverpool area in north-west England. Greggs chief executive, Ken McMeikan, had told Reuters in an interview last month that the company was targeting the end of day take-home market as it seeks new revenue streams in a trading environment he did not expect to improve soon.
