PEPSICO is likely to try and source some raw material in Russia to be turned into juice and other products, after its takeover of Wimm-Bill-Dann Foods. Chief executive Indra Nooyi is reported to have described Russia as "a very good base for food production". When PepsiCo first came to Russia, the company had to deliver potatoes from abroad for chips production because of the low quality of the local potatoes, Nooyi pointed out, and now PepsiCo is the largest potato producer in the country.
