DOHLER fruit juices will soon be made in the Cape Verde Islands. The Aguas de Cabo Verde factory, located in Trindade on Santiago Island, has started producing cola soft drinks, using concentrate supplied by Dohler, and plans to add orange and lemon juices as well as flavoured waters. The US$4.7 million EU-approved factory was built with a loan of US$1.75 million from the Arab Bank for Economic Development of Africa and will have a bottling capacity of 36 000 litres per day. The factory's owners have said they plan to supply the domestic market as well as export its beverages to foreign markets, such as Guinea Bissau.
