France offers extra funds to cut milk output

This article was originally published in Agra Europe

Under an EU-wide scheme unveiled by Brussels last week, farmers will get 14 cents per litre for cutbacks to normal output. To this, France is adding a bonus of 10 cents per litre for the first 5% of production cutbacks.  In practice this means that out of 100 litres, producers will receive 24 c/l for the first 5 litres of milk not produced and 14 c/l for the following 95 litres.
