CIA Envasadora del Atlantico (CEA), the Colombian mango and passion fruit processor, is upgrading its premises and increasing its production capacity. The company is investing US$2.5 million to lift its processing capacity to 1 000 tonnes of mango daily. The improvements include more pulping and refining capacity and a new pasteurisation line, and will be ready in time for Colombia's next mango processing season in April-July 2006. A spokesman for CEA told FOODNEWS: "With this increased capacity we will become one of the biggest mango processing companies in the world."
