This article was originally published in Dairy Markets

Danone is upgrading its Brive-la-Gaillarde factory, run by its baby food subsidiary Blédina. The €20 million investment, Danone's largest this year, will be used to build a second production line for its Blédichef brand, as well as upgrading the existing line. The new line will become operational in December, when the facility's annual production capacity will grow to 20 000 tonnes from 14 000t, and the entire output will be sold in Blédina's European export markets to cater for increased demand from Belgium, Portugal, the UK, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Poland, Greece and the Czech Republic.
