Polish consumers are demonstrating a taste for high living after a new report found their consumption of expensive foods has risen significantly since the country's accession to the EU. According to the latest report by the Institute for Food and Agricultural Economics (IERiGZ), the Poles are consuming more pricey and more highly-processed foods. Demand for yoghurt has grown by approximately 25% and Poles are spending 27% more on eating out. Higher income and changes in lifestyle are thought to be behind the shift in patterns of food consumption.
