Cheese toasted in Hungarian factory fire

A fire has destroyed a Dutch World Proteins cheese factory and warehouse in Kormend, western Hungary, causing Ft 3 billion (€12.2 million) damage. The dairy stocks destroyed included 80 tonnes of cheese, 100t of cheese powder, 40t of margarine, 22t of butter, 150t of casein, as well as several tonnes of packaging materials. The factory and warehouse, which will need to be rebuilt from scratch, employed 30 people, Kormend mayor Istvan Bebes told local radio.
