EAST Africa's coffee production could dip 7% to around 650,000 tonnes in the year to September 2010 as the crop enters a new cycle, said Leslie Omari, chairman of the East African Fine Coffees Association. Erratic weather patterns blamed on climate change were also threatening the high-quality arabica crop from the African region, which makes up 10% of global coffee output.
