Russian wheat surge

ANALYST SovEcon expects the area to be sown with winter grains in Russia for the 2010 harvest to exceed the previous record of 18m hectares registered in 1992. The increase under normal weather conditions may add 1m to 1.5m tonnes to the 2010 crop of mainly winter wheat, which normally accounts for 80% to 81% of the total area sown with winter grains.
