ATLANTA-based InterContinental Exchange has seen a 14% rise in trading year-on-year to 1,088,525 contracts per day in June, meaning second quarter volume rose by the same percentage overall. At ICE Futures US, average daily volume was a record 444,457 contracts in June, an increase of 36% from June 2008. In the second quarter, average daily volume was 404,686, an increase of 47% from the same period in 2008. Total volume at ICE Futures US was a record 9.8m contracts in June, 43% higher than 6.8m contracts in June 2008. ICE Futures Canada recorded June 2009 volume of 335,265 contracts, up 10% from 304,815 in June 2008. Average daily volume was 15,239 contracts, 5% higher than June 2008.
