EGYPT has 2m tonnes of wheat and maize in its strategic storage, enough to provide subsidised bread for four months, according to Ali Moselihi, minister for social solidarity. The North African country also has enough subsidised sugar to last for four and a half months. The government dispenses 113,000 tonnes of subsidised sugar per month.
