China imports much more edible oil in 2007

CHINA saw massive rises in its imports of soya oil and rapeseed oil in 2007, while palm oil remained the most purchased edible oil According to new data released by the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) the world's biggest vegetable oil importer bought 2.823m tonnes of soya oil between January and December last year, a rise of 82.9% from the previous year's total of 1.54m tonnes.
