TODD Carter, president and chief executive of Panda Ethanol, a Texas-based biofuels producer, will become president of parent company Panda Energy International as part of a restructuring of the company's workforce. He will remain on the board of directors of Panda Ethanol. Darol Lindloff, chief operating officer of Panda Ethanol, will become president and chief executive of Panda Ethanol. Michael Trentel, chief financial officer of Panda Ethanol, will become chief financial officer at Panda Energy International, and Franklin Byrd, corporate controller of Panda Ethanol, will become chief financial officer of Panda Ethanol. A number of Panda Ethanol employees will also be offered employment by Panda Energy International in response to tightening equity and credit markets to help ensure the company has adequate liquidity during the final construction phase of the company's 115m gallon-per-year ethanol facility located in Hereford, Texas. Panda Energy will be compensated for these services through deferred arrangements, which could include common stock.
