HUNGARY'S stock of hens, cocks and chickens fell to 30.3m birds by December 1, 2006, down 1.6m birds from a year earlier, the country's statistics office has said. Hungary, which depends on meat production as an outlet for its millions of tonnes of surplus grain, culled 1m birds in June after an outbreak of H5N1 bird flu.
