Britvic profits up by halfThis article was originally published in Foodnews
UK JUICE and soft drinks maker, Britvic, has announced that its net profit for the year ended 27 September rose 47% to UK£46.8 million (US$77.6 million), helped by volume gains for its core brands in the UK, lower taxes and one-off charges. Total sales for the year rose 5.6% to UK£978.8 million. UK and international growth more than offset a decline in Ireland. "Recent conditions in the Great Britain soft drinks market have shown some signs of improvement, although visibility in both Britain and Ireland beyond the short term remains limited and we take a cautious view of consumer spending," said Britvic's chief executive, Paul Moody.
