New apple juice plantThis article was originally published in Foodnews
RED Jacket Orchards, a US apple grower and processor based in New York State, is opening a new US$3.7 million juice plant early next year. The company's current juice production is about 500 000 (US) gallons annually, but the new facility will allow it to quadruple that. The 21 500 sq.ft. plant will include cold storage space for raw material. Red Jacket makes short-life NFC juices, which are sold in New York and elsewhere in the region. It also grows and processes other fruits such as apricots and strawberries.
