Grape processing haltedThis article was originally published in Foodnews
CEPAS Argentina, a grape juice manufacturer, is to stop producing grape juice concentrate from the end of December until the end of February when the new harvest begins. A source from the company says Cepas will take advantage of the gap in production to carry out essential maintenance on the plant. "The reason for our decision (to close the plant) is down to scarce raw material, a fall in the price and quantity of concentrated grape juice, and the resulting decrease in profitability of the industry." Cepas has said there will be no job losses, with contracts only suspended until the harvest restarts.
