Pilot factory on streamThis article was originally published in Foodnews
A PILOT apple juicing plant in Queensland, Australia, is ready to begin processing local fruit once final planning approval is granted. Grove Fruit Juice in Applethorpe is awaiting approval by the Southern Downs Regional Council. The pilot plant will run for 12 months before being relocated to a new 2 000 sq.ft plant built in Warwick (FOODNEWS 10 April) where Australian Juice Processing (AJP) will process both citrus and apple juice. The company looked into setting up a larger factory in Stanthorpe but the large amount of citrus fruit transported through Goondiwindi made the Warwick site a more viable option.
