UK juice factory revivedThis article was originally published in Foodnews
THE former Sunjuice factory in Wales, the UK, is to be taken over by UK fruit and confectionery firm, Fruitapeel. Fruitapeel, established three years ago, is the UK's second-largest manufacturer of fruit- and confectionery-based sauces, making sauces for companies such as Del Monte, Tate and Lyle and Cadbury. Sunjuice closed in January with the loss of over 120 jobs when parent firm Serious Food went into administration ( FOODNEWS 13 February). The move is being financially supported by the Welsh assembly government, which backed Fruitapeel's bid for equipment and production lines at a recent auction.
