THE Philippines' Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is conducting a research project that aims to produce juice from green mango. The research is being led by its sister agency, Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI) and piloted in Villasis, Pangasinan by a private company. The green mango juice drink will be fortified with vitamins A and C and will be packed in 200ml polyethylene foil pouches. In 2007, an estimated 181 000ha of land were planted to mango in the country.
