This article was originally published in Foodnews

UGANDAN police arrested six people mixing and packing juice drinks in used plastic bottles from a residence in a Kampala suburb. The police confiscated boxes of packed juice labelled 'Crest Orange, Refreshing Fruit Juice Drink' and other chemicals including food colour that were allegedly used in making the products, which were being sold for UGX700-1 000 (US$0.33-0.48) in schools, taxi and bus parks and other city outlets, including the busy Kikuubo trading centre. The bottles were properly sealed with inscriptions that said the juice was ready for drinking and contained Vitamin C.
