LASSONDE, the Canadian fruit juice manufacturer, has bought Apple Valley Juice from its owner, the income fund Dominican Citrus, for an undisclosed sum. Based in Clarksburg in Ontario province, Apple Valley produces a range of coldpressed juices and smoothies under the Fruit Fix, Froot Aura, Orange O'Lait, Booster Juice and Apple Valley names and acts as co-packer for brands such as Tropicana and President's Choice. It operates a single plant, close to Lassonde's plant in Thornbury. Lassonde has a second plant in Ontario, which raises the question of whether it will keep all three sites open.
