SABMiller has sold its soft drinks operations in Bolivia to Quinsa, the Luxembourg-based holding company with extensive brewery operations in South America, for some US$27 million, to focus on its core beer business.The unit, Bebidas y Aguas Gaseosa Occidente, a bottler of Pepsi soft drinks, was sold by SABMiller's Colombian subsidiary, Bavaria. SABMiller inherited the business as part of the acquisition of Bavaria some four years ago. (FOODNEWS 22 July 2005). It disposed of Bavaria's bottled water arm in Colombia, Brisa, earlier this year, raising US$92 million.
