ETHIOPIA has run out of Coca-Cola, following the closure of its local bottler, East African Bottling Share Company (EABSC). EABSC suspended operations in mid-March, saying it no longer had enough foreign currency to import raw materials needed for full-scale production. This included bottle caps (FOODNEWS 13 March). Hotels, bars and stores in the capital Addis Ababa and in other cities in the country are offering other brands like Pepsi to customers.
