Mango concentrate offerThis article was originally published in Foodnews
VIETNAMESE mango concentrate is being sold in Europe this month, through a Chinese trading company, Hepu Perfuming Garden Food. The variety being offered is purple flower, the dominant acidic variety of China, but supplies are limited, FOODNEWS has been told, to some 2 000 tonnes of 28 brix product. China's own mango season normally starts in March. Mango puree and concentrate have been in particularly short supply this year, due to the partial failure of the crop in India, and South America has been unable to meet demand. Much will depend on whether European processors can use the Vietnamese variety.
