New brands for Turkey

TURKEY-based Ulker Food and Beverage Group plans to launch six new brands and 20 new beverages this year, and is aiming to achieve sales of TRY738 million (US$603 million) compared with TRY625 million in 2007. At a press conference, Ulker's president, Mehmet Tutuncu, said the company wants to boost beverage production by 11% to 676 million litres a year. Turkey's beverage market is estimated at TRY3.6 billion and, according to Sener Astan, general manager of the company's beverage unit, Ulker has a 10% share of the market.
