UKRAINIAN company, Agrofusion, is set to take nearly 50% of the Ukrainian tomato paste market. The company, belonging to Sergey Sypko, the ex-owner of the Ukrainian juice company Sandora, has commissioned a tomato processing plant with a daily capacity of 2 400 tonnes (FOODNEWS 27 J une) .The company is currently completing construction of the third stage of the UAH100 million (US$22 million) plant, after which the daily capacity will increase to 3 500 tonnes. The company will export 50% of its production to Europe, 20% to Russia and sell 30% domestically. This would mean the company would control nearly 50% of the Ukrainian market, 10% of the Russian market and 5-6% of the European market.
