ITALIAN dairy company Granarolo SpA has sold its Caseificio Merlo creamery to a group of businessmen for €180 000, reports the local media. The move comes almost six months after the company announced it would close its plants in Sermoneta and Acqui Terme, which both produce cheese for the Merlo brand. Bologna-based Granarolo is a leading producer of organic dairy products, and also produces fresh pasteurised and long life UHT milk.
