THE Campbell Soup Company is to increase the capacity of its Dixon tomato processing plant in Solano County, California. The facility's processing capacity will increase by 15% and a further 60 production days will be added, according to local press reports. Campbell is understood to be investing US$23 million in the expansion. Campbell's V8 and V8 V-Fusion vegetable juice products are also expected to be made at the upgraded plant. The Dixon facility is Campbell's largest tomato processing facility and employs roughly 180 people.
