Another Pepsi purchase? This article was originally published in Foodnews
PEPSICO may be looking to buy another beverages firm. After the acquisition of Jugos del Valle by Coca-Cola and Femsa, Pepsi seems to be interested in another Mexican drinks maker, Valle Redondo. The family-run company, also known for its ciders and table wine, is an emerging player in the functional drinks market with an annual income of around MXD650 million (US$61.6 million). The firm has attracted the attention of PepsiCo, which is trying to strengthen its position in the noncarbonated and juices markets in Mexico.
