AUSTRIAN herbal lemonade maker Almdudler is planning to increase its exports to 50% of output from its present 20%. According to the Austrian Press Agency (APA), managing director Gerhard Schilling sees further growth potential for the brand as a cult drink, especially in the German on-trade. The company bottles around 80 million litres a year of Almdudler, Austria's second-largest carbonated soft drinks brand after Coca-Cola. Germany is already its biggest market outside Austria, taking 85% of exports. In 2007, the firm saw domestic volume sales edge slightly ahead by 1%, while turnover grew by 4%. Exports posted doubledigit growth of 12%. The firm is also in talks to develop a beer/juice blend for the German market.
