Recall extended againThis article was originally published in Foodnews
THE recall of canned vegetable products made by US-based New Era Canning Company (FOODNEWS passim) has been extended again. The recall, prompted by worries over botulinus contamination, originally covered certain canned bean products made for the foodservice market. Now it includes all vegetables packed in A10 cans and asparagus and blackeye peas have been added to the danger list. While these are large cans intended for bulk or foodservice sale, some have been sold in retail. They may be missing the can codes, however. So far, no New Era product has tested positive for botulinus and there have been no cases of botulism reported.
