PAKISTAN's Caretaker Minister for Industries, Khawaja Muhammad Jalaluddon Roomi, has announced the implementation of a Small and Medium Enterprise policy (SME). It is the first of its kind in the country and is being set up in Multan. One of the first priorities of this SME is the construction of an agro-food processing facility centre. Costing around PKR200 million (US$3.2 million), it will provide processing facilities for fruit pulp extraction, as well as tomato paste. It is hoped that this project will add value to Pakistani products and increase world exports.
