Cargill US exit? This article was originally published in Foodnews
CARGILL Juice North America Inc is considering quitting orange juice processing in Florida completely. The company owns three plants in the state and has notified the Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation, the state's employment agency, that it will lay off another 25 people from its former Frostproof processing plant, which closed earlier this year. It appears that these may be re-hired by a new owner. The Frostproof plant was damaged by the 2004 hurricanes and the remaining raw material supply was too small to be viable.
