FRESHTROP Fruits of Ahmedabad, India, a supplier of fresh fruits to US and European supermarket chains, is entering the juice business. The company has decided to set up an INR300 million (US$7.6 million) plant to process pomegranate juice. The company has placed orders with an unnamed Italian supplier for the production machinery, according to local news reports. The firm also sells fresh table grapes and mangoes: it is not yet known whether it will process these fruits into juice and concentrate.
