Nampak can investment

SOUTH African canning company Nampak has announced it is to invest ZAR600 million (US$87 million) in a beverage can plant in Angola. The factory, which will be located on the outskirts of Luanda, will have a production capacity of 700 million cans a year, catering for local exporters to Angola such as SABMiller and Coca-Cola as well as the Angola-based firms Cuca and Feriango. The facility is expected to go into production in mid-2009.
