Dried apricots banned

THE Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) has banned the sale of Turkish dried pitted apricots (in 200g bags, with a best before date of 15 June 2008) after finding tiny white insects in the product. The apricots were imported to the Czech Republic from Obio Organik Tarim Urunleri San Tic Ltd, by K-Servis, Praha, and supplied to the distribution chain of Penny Market after being re-packed by LTC, Vysoke Myto. The CAFIA has informed the EC of the case through its Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed.
