THE Chinese tomato crop will probably be depleted by around 10-15% this year, due to an unprecedented crop failure in Inner Mongolia, China's secondbiggest tomato-growing region after Xinjian, which produces about 60% of China's total output. Gansu province accounts most of the remainder.
