PAKISTAN is likely to miss this year's seafood export target of US$210 million, due to the suspension of exports to the EU since April (FOODNEWS passim) .The suspension followed an EU inspection which revealed deficiencies in Pakistan's handling and processing of export products. In the first 10 months (JulyApril) of the 2006/07 season, US$157 million worth of seafood products were exported, far short of the target of US$172 million. The EU market accounts for around US$50 million annually. Last year, Pakistan exported US$196 million of seafood.
