Dairy imports held up

THE undeclared trade war between Russia and Ukraine (FOODNEWS passim) is hotting up, with more restrictions being placed on imports into Russia of Ukrainian dairy products. Russia's veterinary and phytosanitary regulatory body, Rosselkhoznadzor, has announced that imports will henceforth be permitted only at two checkpoints on the border with Ukraine. Russia claims that these new restrictions are due to recent breaches of Russian veterinary legislation by Ukrainian dairy product manufacturers, including shipments of uncertified products and incorrect paperwork.
