Another Afghan dairy

This article was originally published in Foodnews

A SECOND dairy union has been set up in Afghanistan by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), the country's Ministry of Agriculture and local dairy farmers. The Kunduz Dairy Union was registered under the Agricultural Co-operative Department on 13 January, and consists of four milk producers' co-operative societies with 208 members. The aim is to train members on how to manage a business under co-operative ownership, and eventually take over processing facilities set up by the FAO.
