MCDONALD’s, the US fast-food chain, has named Tim Fenton as its new chief operating officer. Alex Masters writes: Fenton, who is president of the company’s Asia, Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA) division, will succeed Don Thompson, who is to become chief executive. The changes will take place on 1 July after McDonald’s chief executive officer, Jim Skinner, retires after 41 years with the company. McDonald’s said that both Skinner and Thompson recommended Fenton for the COO position.
