Bakkavör cuts jobsThis article was originally published in Foodnews
FRESH food firm Bakkavör is cutting jobs at its English Village Salads (EVS) business in the UK following a decision by supermarket chain Asda to take a substantial part of salads procurement into its in-house operation, International Produce Limited. Bakkavör is making 24 salaried workers and 50 weekly paid workers redundant across its two EVS sites in Yorkshire. EVS employs a total of 270 workers across its Newport and Selby sites. The company is also to reorganise its Spalding, Lincolnshire site after losing a tender for the supply of speciality salads.
